Step 4: In the "New Account" window, leave the  "Account Type" set to POP then click  the  "OK" button.

Step 5: In the "Edit Account" window, fill in your name or the name you wish to call this account in "Account Name". Under Personal Information,  enter your name in the "Name" field and your new email address in the E-Mail address field.

Step 6: Under Receiving mail, enter your full email address in the Account ID field;  the POP server you were given in the email from ValleyNet (for example mail.mydomain.com) and the password from the ValleyNet email. The password in case sensitive and must be exactly as it is in the ValleyNet email.. Check the box for "Save password in my Mac OS keychain".

Step 7: Under Sending Mail, the SMTP server will be the same as the entry for the POP server. Click on "Click here for advanced sending options"

Step 8: In the Advanced Sending Options, check the box for "SMTP server requires authentication". This should make the other options active with a bullet beside "Use same settings as receiving mail server". Leave that checked and close the Advanced Sending Options window and click "OK" back on the Edit Account window.

Step 9:  Close the Accounts window. That completes the setup of your new email account. To test the account, compose a new email to yourself and send it.. If you've configured Entourage  correctly, it should send with no error messages and in a very short time you should receive it in your new Entourage account.
